Description:

SEECS IP Tech Center organized two day workshop titled ‘Introduction to network simulation using NS2 ’ on 7th and 8th of July 2011. The content of the workshop was designed to attract students and professionals planning or working on research topics related to network technologies. The workshop attracted participants from different educational institutes and industry. The workshop was conducted by researchers at IP Tech Center including Ejaz Ahmed, Syed Ahmed Faran, Zeeshan Asif, Sohaiba Qazi and Ain Ul Aisha. The workshop was designed and organized under supervision of Dr. Adeel Baig. Dr. Adeel detailed out contents and flow of workshop. Contents that were delivered to participants through lecture session included simulation basics, NS2 basics, introduction to Linux commands, C++ and TCL and their interaction, simulation fall pits, and addition of new modules to NS2. In the hands-on session participants practiced writing TCL script for NS2, analyzing trace files and creating patch files. The workshop covered topics from basic to advanced levels which users face when working with NS2.
